Sales queuer claims record
NZPA-PA London A marathon bargainhunter, Kevin Meilish, claimed yesterday to have broken the world record for sale queueing. Mr Meilish was first through the door at. a South London store after spending 480 hours
camped outside. Then he bought a £7OO ($1946) carpet reduced to £95 by the Arding and Hobbs store in Clapham. Mr Meilish, a 36-year-old unemployed porter, of South London, said he would give the carpet and more than £lOOO
($2780) he has collected to the Help a London Child charity. Last year, he waited 18 days and one hour outside Selfridges in Oxford Street, but did not qualify for a record because he left without buying anything.
