Burdite top weight in feature at Kurow

Special correspondent Dunedin Burdite could carry topweight to success in the Fay, Richwhite Handicap, the feature race for four-year-olds at the Kurow Jockey Club’s meeting at Kurow today. Burdite has a useful record this season and he was a winner over the 2000 m distance, at Orari in September. Two starts back he finished a close third to My Wee Man and Flyer over 2200 m at Ascot Park.

Four Figures is the other horse in the field with a success over 2000 m. He won a maiden at Motukarara on November 1. He was no match for She’s Noble over 2200 m at Wingatui on Friday.

False Start finished third to Sparkling Eyes and Try To Stop Me over 2200 m at Wingatui nine days ago when tried in blinkers. Mr Magoo has been penalised I.skg for his win over 1600 m at Washdyke on Saturday. He ran second to Bacton Abbey over 2000 m at Waikouaiti last season.

Slick Million, a last start winner at Riccarton, makes most appeal in the Kurow Cup, first leg of the T.A.B. double while Jonny Alone, the beaten favourite in the main sprint that day and in this race at Kurow 12 months ago, could • make amends in the second leg of the T.A.B. double and treble, the WrightsonDalgety Handicap.
