PA Auckland The comedian, Billy T. James, will appear in television advertisements promoting immunisation against infection. His new role is part of a campaign to encourage parents to immunise their young children against diseases such as measles, TB, and polio. James will appear in the 30-second and oneminute advertisements in February and March in the build-up to World Health Day, April 7, the aim of which is to have

children around the world immunised.

A Health Department spokesman, Mr Gerald Latimer said New Zealand authorities would support James on screen. The groups encouraging families to get immunisations would be the Health Department, Children’s Health Foundation, Maori Women’s Welfare League, Royal College of General Practitioners, Plunket Society, Pediatrics Society, New Zealand Medical Association, and National Children’s Health Foundation.
