BNZ rates
The Bank of New Zealand has announced an increase to its base lending rate from 16 to 17.5 per cent, effective from December 29. Existing housing loans are not affected yet, but the rate for new lending in this category will be up one percentage point to 18.5 per cent and 19.5 per cent. Non-table, term loans will also rise 1.5 percentage points. BNZ Visa will move 1.5 percentage points to 26.5 per cent, effective with February billings.
