Applicants should be familiar with oil filled, gas filled and solid types of cable jointing. The work consists of the jointing of 110,000 volt 3 core oil and gas filled cables, 33,000 volt 3 core oil filled cables, 22,000 volt 3 core oil and gas filled cables, 33,000 and 22,000 volt solid type cables and 33,000 volt and 11,000 volt submarine type cables. A sound knowledge of oil filled cable jointing techniques is required, and applicants should be familiar with MIG welding techniques as applied to aluminium conductors. The rate of pay will be $9,161 per hour and $9,387 per hour after two year’s current continuous service with the board plus $ll per week Industry Allowance.
