Motor-cyclist named
A man died after the motor-cycle he was riding and a car collided on Hoon Hay Road about 11.30 p.m. on Thursday. He was Shane Justin Gordon, aged 18, of Waipara Street, Cashmere. The accident happened when Mr Gordon tried to overtake a car which was turning right. He died at the scene. No-one else was hurt.
