Journalist murdered

NZPA-AP Bogota Two motor-cyclists fatally shot a prominent Colombian journalist, Guillermo Cano, yesterday. Cano, aged 61, was editor and part-owner of the daily newspaper, “El Espectador.” He was driving his car in Bogota at the time of the shooting, and crashed into a wall, witnesses said. He died later at a

nearby hospital. Cano, who had published reports accusing drug-traffickers of harming the country by dealing in narcotics, was the second journalist from the newspaper to be killed within a week. Its Miami correspondent, Amparo Hurtado de Paz, was murdered in her house last Friday, along with her husband and nine-year-old daughter.
