W.I. cricketer signed
PA Auckland East Coast Bays Cricket Club has signed Andy Jackman, one of the West Indies’ most promising batsmen. Jackman, aged 23, arrived in Auckland yesterday to represent East Coast Bays in the Auckland senior A competition. Jackman, a punishing top-order batsman, is con-
sidered to be on the fringe of selection for the West Indies. “I still have an outside chance of making the side to tour New Zealand,” said the stockily-built Jackman. “Larry Gomes .isn’t batting particularly well at the moment and one or two of the other players didn’t do too well in Pakistan.”
