Fay may sell yachts
NZPA staff correspondent Fremantle New Zealand’s America’s Cup syndicate will sell its two prototype fibreglass 12-metre yachts if it was made a decent offer, said its chairman, Michael Fay, yesterday. Mr Fay said other countries were working on fibreglass boat projects, and New Zealand couldn’t
expect to control the technological breakthrough it had made forever. “I haven’t got a firm policy at this point in time. I’ve got to get an offer before I can sell anything,” he said. “I think dur approach if we received an offer for the boats would be to sell them.”
