Video library opening a good move
Opening up a video library in Christchurch was a good move, says Mr Ross “Griff” Griffiths. Two years ago he left the library he was running in Australia and came to New Zealand. "New Zealand was
ready for the video scene,” says Mr Movie. “It was an open market which hadn’t been fully explored. To come here then, was a good decision. The only problem now is size. “We’ve got more than 3000 videos, but just not enough room to display them.” The Mr Movie video library now has extended hours of 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. “We stock all categories, ranging from children’s animated classics through to explicit adults,” says Mr Movie. “We offer fast and friendly computerised service, good advice, movie knowledge second to none, and we have the largest privately owned video library in the South Island. “We have a television in the store showing previews of up-coming movies, and we have a recommendation system where we put stickers on tapes which are good family entertainment. “We recommend tapes which everyone should enjoy, but which also have a bit of backbone.” Mr Movie has three others in his staff; his wife, Bev, and Julie and Natasha. Bev has been on the staff since the shop opened, and Julie and Natasha started working this year.
