Mission to Chile
Sir, —As a recent visitor to Chile, I was fortunate to be in Santiago and to be present at several official functions at the time that Mr Mike Moore and his trade mission visited the country. The impression created by the Minister within Government and trade circles was a credit to New Zealand and to himself. This was due, no doubt, to the tremendous effort generated by him in promoting New Zealand, with a particular emphasis on commercial activity and the opportunities which exist there for New Zealand companies. The opportunity was there for the Minister and his mission members to obtain first-hand knowledge on the political, social, and economic aspects of Chilean life, and to witness the open and frank manner in which Chilean authorities operate. Well done, Mike Moore. — Yours, etc., M. E. DORMER, Hon. Consul for Chile Christchurch. November 24, 1986.
