Cricket cancelled
Prospects of a one-day cricket match today between North Canterbury and New Zealand Universities at Rangiora were squashed by continued heavy rain yesterday. North Canterbury was to have played the Universities in a two day
match starting yesterday. Heavy rain on Tuesday forced the cancellation of the two-day game, and further rain yesterday meant there was no hope of any play today. North Canterbury was the last venue on the Universities’ short South Island tour.
