Austin Rover slump in U.K. market
Just at the time when the New Zealand Motor Corporation, Ltd, is introducing the Austin Rover range of cars, including the Montego, to the local market, flagging sales in Britain have left Austin Rover with stocks of preAugust, 1986, models. In an attempt to shift them, Austin Rover is offering its dealers sub-
stantial incentive bonuses to sell them before the .onset of the Northern ‘Hemisphere winter. Up to the end of October, the Austin/MG Montego ranked seventh on the British top 10 list. The Ford Escort with 139,210 sales was at the top of the list. Austin/MG Montego sales amounted to 56,955.
