Police investigate hotel incident
PA Timaru Police are investigating an incident which has left a Timaru man on a life support system in Timaru Hospital. Police said that lan Robert Campbell, aged 25, was struck on the head on Wednesday evening in Matai Crescent.
He underwent surgery on serious head injuries on Friday. Detective Sergeant Maurice Fink, head of the
Timaru C. 1.8., said police questioning had included setting up a caravan at the Hibernian Hotel where it was thought the incident began.
There had been between 50 and 70 people in the bar on Wednesday evening and police had interviewed 40 of them. They were particularly interested in speaking to anyone who saw' two cars, one a silver Humber Super Snipe
