Enthusiastic pilgrims to the Papal Mass in Christchurch, from Catholic parishes in Dunedin, who arrived at the Sockburn Catholic Church last evening. Up to 20 busloads of people from the Dunedin diocese have made what they describe as a Papal pilgrimage to Christchurch, making stops at Catholic parishes in Oamaru and Timaru for prayer. Hundreds from Marlborough, Nelson, Blenheim and West Coast parishes are also expected to arrive in Christchurch this morning in time for the Mass, which begins at 10.45 a.m. at Lancaster Park.
