Winchmore field day

A field day is to be held on the Winchmore Research station of the M.A.F. to bring growers up to date with all aspects of crop management, according to the crop specialist with the ministry in Canterbury, Mr David Montgomery. The field day is organised jointly by the Advisory services and Research Divisions and will be on Wednesday, November 26, from 9.30 a.m. to 3.30* p.m.

Trials at Winchmore to be inspected and discussed include: pea management, wheat quality and barley sowing dates.

A brief look at the diversification projects at Winchmore, including apples, berryfruit and buttercup squash, is also planned. A number of speakers on agronomy, pests, disease and irrigation will be featured and no charge will be made for attendance.
