A.I.D.S. clinic in Chch soon

An A.I.D.S. clinic will be set up in Christchurch next week.

After months of negotiation, the Aids Support Network and Canterbury Hospital Board have agreed that a room in the St Andrew’s Outpatients Department in Tuam Street be set aside for a clinic.

The network co-ordina-tor, Mr lan Smith, said that the room would initially be used by the network’s part-time counsellor for appointments. The network intended broadening the clinic’s services next year. At present the counsellor was seeing about six persons a week, some before being tested for A.1.D.5., and others about related matters of concern, said Mr Smith.

Persons seeking referral for counselling should telephone the network at Christchurch 65-865.
