Crew’s lawyer arrives
NZPA-AFP St Denis An Australian defence lawyer for the nine crew of the Southern Raider, sunk after an encounter with the French Navy in the seas south of Reunion on October 9, arrived at St Denis yesterday. He intends to show that
the vessel was neither spying nor transporting weapons or drugs. The lawyer, Mr Chris Nash, said he was collecting documents to prove to local magistrates there was no reason to prosecute his clients, charged with a breach of France’s narcotics law.
