Dog display at school
Louisa Damodran’s former friends and classmates at Bromley Primary School were cheered up by the Christchurch police dog section yesterday. The man who heads the inquiry into Louisa’s abduction and disappearance, Detective Inspector Mai Griebel, arranged for the dog section to put on a display at the school yesterday morning. The display was put on by Constable Jim Smith
and Ben, Constable Keith Nicol and Fritz, Constable Geoff Bryant and Sultan, and Constable Mark Willis and Zeuse. "It was well received by the pupils,” said the school’s principal, Mr David Bates. More than 400 children, including a group from the nearby Keighleys Road kindergarten, watched the display. Mr Bates said that the school had also appreci-
ated the way the police had dealt with the children. The four detectives who had interviewed pupils were “very good” with the children. Asked how the pupils had reacted to Louisa’s disappearance, Mr Bates said that they had taken it well apart from one or two of Louisa’s classmates. The staff were obviously very upset by what had happened.
