New actress at Court
Michele Amas, the young actress who takes ’ the role of Jemima in The Court’s “Paper Towers,” began her career while still at school. ! In the six years since has acted at several -of New Zealand’s ."theatres. This is her first ■ visit to The Court. * The 25-year-old attended Drama School in "Wellington in 1983 and 1984. Five public perform- ‘ ances were fitted into her □ training including a season of poems and " sketches at Downstage * Theatre. c Since finishing Drama -School she has acted at “ Centrepoint Theatre in -- Palmerston North, Well- " ington’s Downstage, the s Depot Theatre, and the " Fortune Theatre in «Dunedin. “ She has acted also in J the television series - “Heart of the High Coun- « try” and had roles in *"Roche” and “Seekers.” v r Michele Amas has also » done two plays for radio i. and several commercials. Her experience of theatre is not limited to . acting. She did the cos- ‘ tumes for Drama School - productions and also ; worked in set production. ’ Her interests include singing and jazz and tap danc- . ing.
