Appeal to set record?
Plunket’s door-to-door appeal seems set for a record $650,000 after a preliminary count. Collections from some areas are still to be counted, as well as postal and chemist shop returns, but the total has already passed $550,000. Christchurch’s collectors gathered $59,527, 8.5 per cent more than last year.
