Burletta foals filly

Special correspondent Auckland Burletta, one of the top class racemares of recent years, produced her first foal at Windsor Park Stud, Cambridge, a fortnight ago. The youngster is a filly by Imposing and, like her dam, she is grey. Burletta, which is to be bred with Star Way, was the top weighted filly on the 1983-84 Australia and New Zealand three-year-old classification and the 1984 Wrightson Filly of the Yearr. Her 16 wins, up to 2000 metres, included the New Zealand One Thousand Guineas and the Bayer Classic. Another recent notable foaling at Windsor Park was La Souvronne (A. J. C. Oaks), which had a filly foal by Sir Tristram. She, too, is booked to Star Way;
