Port useful for Koreans

Korean fishing vessels have found the Port of Lyttelton a convenient place to refit and have a survey. Five Korean vessels have called at the port recently to have such work. One was the Oyang 7, which ran aground off the Wanganui coast. The vessel went into the Lyttelton dry dock last month so the damage could be inspected, but was found not to be too serious. The Oyang 7 is still berthed at Lyttelton at No; 4 East. Other Korean vessels to have used the dry dock recently include the Oyang 85, which was there last month, and the Oyang 86, which had a survey last . week. The Dong Won 520 is now berthed in the dock and is expected to remain there to October 24. A Japanese trawler Eniwa Maru is to use the dock from October 25. Meanwhile, at the No. 1 breastwork, the Korean trawler Sam Won 97 is having a refit. ARRIVALS Canterbury Express (6 a.m.), 3850, Wellington (Scales).
