Arts Centre crafts in varied display
The Christchurch Arts Centre craftspeople will show the public their work in a joint exhibition at the centre from Monday. The exhibition in the Centre Gallery will feature the arts works of several people based at the centre plus some outside artists. Mr Chris Kerton, one of the organisers, said it would be the largest exhibition the Arts Centre
craftspeople had held. Exhibiting are Frank Southgate, Jim Angus, Tony Manuel and Chris Kerton, who will show their pen and wash drawings, watercolours, and oils. Mr Kerton’s four students, Richard Hanna, Robert Wildermoth, Mark Jamieson and Scott Mullions, will also exhibit. John Seymore will display his marquetry, Keith Nicolson and West Coast
photographer, David Saunders, their photography, and Don Harkess, his wood turning. Peter Winslade’s basketware will be on display as will Denise Montgomery’s painted porcelain and pottery by Rena Scandrett and Philip Hadfield. The exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until October 31. It is called “Varied Art.”
