Wage claim of 18%
PA Wellington The long-time union wage bargainer, Mr Tony Neary, opened negotiations on behalf of Wellington rubber workers yesterday, claiming an 18 per cent wage rise. Mr Neary will represent also electrical contractors’ workers at their
award talks. The rubber award covers about 250 workers in the Wellington industrial district. Mr Neary outlined claims to employers saying that they should forget any talk of a flow-on 6 per cent settlement in line with the general driver’s award settled last week.
