More adventure from Disney

Three new titles on the Walt Disney label are being released this month (Oct) by Cannon Screen Entertainment, Ltd. They are:-

“The Journey of Natty Gann” (PG) — This story is set in America in the depths of the Great Depression. Families drift apart when fareway jobs beckon. In this masterful, atmospheric adventure, a courageous young girl (newcomer Meredith Salenger) confronts overwhelming odds when she embarks on a crosscountry search for her father. During her extraordinary odyssey, she forms a close bond with

two diverse travelling companions: a magnificent, protective wolf, and a hardened drifter (John Cusack). A moving tapestry, woven of courage and

perseverance. “The Last Electric Knight” and “2i/ 2 Dads” (PG) — In the main movie of this double, Ernie Lee (Ernie Reyes, Jr) a young boy who lives in a crime-ridden neighbourhood with his dying grandfather (Key Luke), possesses the “electric” energy of an ancient Oriental sect called the Panther Ohm. It is a fearsome, mind-boggling power that Ernie must learn to control. With the

old man’s death imminent, he has very little time to teach his grandson how to use the powerful gift, and to find the boy a worthy guardian — a tough, unmarried police detective (Gil Gerard). Armed with his karate expertise and his newlychanneled “electric” energy, Ernie and the policeman became a force to reckon with as they go after a dangerous drug ring. The second film, “2i/ 2 Dads,” is directed by Oscar winner Tony Bill (“The Sting”). It is a wildly funny tale of a father of three (George Dzundza) and a macho

bachelor-buddy (Sal Viscuso) who move in with a widower (Richard Young) and his two children to save on expenses. With all that male supervision what could possibly go wrong? “The Magnificent Rebel” (G) — A proud and ambitious student arrives in Vienna hoping to be the next Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. His name is Ludwig van Beethoven and he is the Magnificent Rebel. This is a factual account of a great composer driven to succeed despite his long battle against deafness; Filmed in and' around Vienna where Beethoven actually lived and worked, the international cast is headed by the Australian actor-classical pianist Carl Boehm, who bears a striking* resemblance to the man he portrays.
