CHARGE NURSE SURGICAL WARD The Cook Hospital Board invites applications from well-motivated and experienced Nurses for the position of Charge Nurse Surgical Ward, who will maintain effective management and organisation of Nursing care to maximum standards. Qualifications RGN, RGON or RCpN and with minimum two years relevant post basic Nursing experience. Gisborne Hospital is completely new, opened in 1985 replacing Cook Hospital. It has very modern facilities to serve the 230 bed capacity. As base hospital for the Gisborne City/East Cape region it serves a population of some 50,000 people. Responsible to the Medical Superintendent for the efficient management of the Department which provides services to all Boards institutions and such outpatient and Domicllliary services as may be authorised by him. Duties will include administration, personal clinical case load, provision of inservice . training of staff under his/her control. The Occupational Therapy Department is modern and spacious.
