Sir, —My letter of October 4 was not in any way inaccurate, as Garry Moore (October 7) suggests. We all know the Planning Tribunal will judge the merits of the northern arterial in the new year and whether the $lO,OOO was allotted for High Court fees or legal fees for the Planning Tribunal is immaterial. I questioned why such an amount should be given to one section of St Albans alone. If Garry Moore is acting in the interests of St Albans, he could offer something constructive to relieve the traffic congestion. Why have I had encouraging phone calls from as far away as Burwood since my letter was published? I agree with G. A. Jeffreys (October 5) that to oppose the excellent planning of the arterial will only bring stagnation to our suburb. With an election coming up we need to know who is genuinely interested in our suburb and safeguarding our roads for the young and the elderly.—Yours, etc.,
JUNE WRIGHT. October 7, 1986.
