NZPA-Reuter Washington The Philippines’ President, Corazon Aquino, addresses the joint houses of the United States Congress today, having been buoyed by a strong endorsement from Ronald Reagan and good news on the economic front. The meeting between the two leaders yesterday was marked by the handing over of SUSIOO million
($206 million) in badly needed aid and moves to encourage American investment in the Philippines and greater exports to the United States. The World Bank agreed to a SUS3OO million loan that her Finance Minister, Mr Jaime Ongpin, said was the key to rescheduling 5U53.25 billion of Manila’s SUS 26 billion foreign debt.
