Easy starting by just turning a key

The most common reason for buying a new lawnmower is to replace the old one that will not start. If you are in this position you may be interested to leam of some recent developments which make it possible for anyone to start a mower without any effort at all.

The Briggs and Stratton four-stroke is by far the most popular choice of lawnmower engines, and a recent development by this manufacturer is now available on Lawnmaster Motor Mowers here in New Zealand. It is an electric start option by which you start your mower like you start your car — you turn a key.

It comes complete with

its own battery and incorporates a charging unit which recharges the battery as you mow. Nothing could be simpler, turn the key and mow.

Lawnmaster has another easy-start option available — the mains electric model. Powered by a powerful induction motor and double insulated for safety, it is extremely cheap to operate and requires little maintenance.

You may, at first sight, object to the power cord with this model, but it is no more difficult to manage than a vacuum cleaner.

A few minutes practice with the power cable disconnected will ensure trouble-free mowing. To start, just squeeze the

switch, and release it when you want to stop. The Lawnmaster rotary mower range includes the usual recoil-start models, with either the 3.5 or 4 h.p. Briggs and Stratton engine, and also the twostroke model with the popular Johnson Iron Horse. All models are covered by a two-year warranty. The width of cut Is 480 mm. They have a tough rustproof alloy chassis, twin ballrace wheels and a foldaway handle for easy storage.

Lawnmaster also manufactures a range of reel mowers from 350 mm to 660 mm, and you will find them at all leading lawnmower specialist service dealers.
