Silence for peace
PA Wellington The Prime Minister, Mr Lange, has called for people to observe the United Nations International Peace Day today with one minute’s silence at noon.
The project would take
place in 48 countries, aiming to “raise one million minutes of peace before October 16,” he said. Its patrons included the Archbishop of South Africa, the Most Rev. Desmond Tutu, and enter-
tainer, Paul McCartney.
