Bookmakers shortened Drought to 5-1 favourite in the $502,000 Foster’s Caulfield Cup (2400 m October 18) after his good win in Saturday’s $75,000 Gloaming Stakes (1900 m at Rosehill. This year's Adelaide Cup winner, Mr Lomondy, is 7-1 favourite in the SAustl million Foster’s Melbourne Cup (3200 m at Flemington on November 4. Mr Lomondy firmed after his two length win in the Ormond Memorial Handicap (2000 m at Hastings on Saturday.
