Director sued for $1.2 million

PA Hamilton Court action has been initiated against the managing director of the Taupiri Food Processing Company which was liquidated last year owing creditors an estimated $1,289,000. The Official Assignee, at Hamilton, as liquidator of Waikato Frozen Products, Ltd, has filed proceedings against Derek Howard Gower, managing director of the company. He alleges that Mr

Gower, a Taupiri farmer, breached sections of the Companies Act. The case is set down for October 23 in the High Court at Hamilton.

The liquidator seeks a court order declaring Mr Gower personally responsible for all the debts and other liabilities of Waikato Frozen Products. The liquidator also wants a debenture granted by the company to Mr Gower set aside, and Mr Gower to pay costs of the court action.
