PA Westport Centra.’ Otago upset the form book when it easily beat Nelson to win the South Island men’s third division basketball championship at Westport on Saturday. In the women’s division, South Canterbury was too
strong for Mid-Canter-bury. Buller was third in both the men’s and women’s events. Final scores.— Men: Central Otago 91, Nelson 56. Women: South Canterbury 62, Mid-Canterbury 49.
