If you have, then this position in our Thermal Generation Branch, Head Office, Wellington, will interest you. We are seeking a person who will be responsible primarily for ensuring that nondestructive inspection carried out by NZE contractors meets a minimum specified standard by carrying out regular audits. He/she will be required also to devise technical specifications for NDT contract work and carry out ultrasonic || surveys of plant components containing critical defects. Applicants should have a sound, basic training in fabrication of pressure vessels and pipework. At least 5 years practical experience of non-destructive testing of high temperature power plant and ultrasonic testing of high temperature low alloy steam pipework is necessary for this position. A minimum of CBIP level UT2 or internationally recognised equivalent qualification is required. Preference may be given to applicants with CSWIP 3.2 An ability in verbal and written communication skills would be an advantage. A high degree of initiative, motivation and selfreliance is equally important.
