Ubix to list

Übix (N.Z.), Ltd, best known for its photocopiers, will seek Stock Exchange listing after a private placement of 3.75 million shares. Wellington brokers Jarden and Co, who are handling the placement, said the Australian shareholder of Übix had given the company’s staff the opportunity to buy its shares at 150 c each. Übix’s customers and the clients of some brokers would also be offered the shares, but there would be no public pool. The company now had about 20 per cent of the office copying machine market, and would probably continue the line after listing. Übix (N.Z.) is a wholly owned subsidiary of AB Holdings of Australia, owned by Sydney businessman Mr Tony Paola.
