Turner job offer

PA Wellington The Central League soccer club, Harbour Inn Petone, has offered Grant Turner the job of playercoach next season. Petone’s chairman, John Bradbury, has confirmed the offer, but there is unlikely to be any firm decision reached for a few weeks.

Turner, who plays for the Rothmans League club, National Mutual Miramar, agreed he had been having discussions

with Petone, who he played for last season. "While they have offered me the job, there is no way I can think about it at this time,” said Turner. < “At the moment I am only interested in helping Miramar try to win the league championship.” Turner, aged 27, who was a major force in the All Whites reaching the 1982 World Cup finals, is known to. be keen on coaching in the future.
