Traffic chief on 25 charges

PA Auckland Chief traffic officer David Ernest Seath appeared in the District Court at Otahuhu for the taking of depositions yesterday on 25 charges of wilfully endorsing false statements of service on traffic prosecution notices. The alleged offences

occurred between May 26

and June 20 when Seath, aged 62, was chief traffic officer for the Otahuhu Borough Council.

Questioned by Mr Peter Kaye for the prosecution Inspector John Whitfield denied all knowledge of Mr Seath’s falsifying statements.
