New' office for Dairy Board

PA Wellington A new phase in the development of Middle Eastern markets will begin soon when the Dairy Board opens an office in Jeddah, in Saudi Arabia, the board said. The board said it was posting Mr Mark Wynne to Jeddah from its Wellington head office as part of a strategy aimed at winning a greater share of the market for consumer-packed dairy products in the countries surrounding the Arabian Gulf.

The board has until now concentrated its activities in Saudi Arabia on outlets for bulk products and holds between 70 and 80 per cent of this market.

Dairy Board sales in Saudi are now running at an annual level of $35 million.
