Chairman’s welcome
Akaroa county is a friendly place which welcomes young and old alike for Settler’s Week. Both in the town and round the bays we have magnificent scenery, a multitude of crafts people and two museums of a very high standard. In the housing and building areas, the Akaroa County Council has encouraged the preservation of character of the peninsula. This starts off with our council offices in Duvauchelle, which is an old building with a very modern interior and facilities. The high standard of our roads is also reflected in our modern workshop and equipment. So why not come and have a look-see, either for a visit (we enjoy your company) or with a view to settling here. MR C. HARRIS, Chairman, Akaroa County Council.
