Woman’s sweet revival
PA Wellington A Wellington traffic officer, Mr Mark Rybinski, on Monday snatched a sugar bowl from a nearby cafe to revive a woman suffering a diabetic collapse in the central city. Mr Rybinski was patrolling on a motor-cycle just after 9 a.m. when he was flagged down by a pedes-
trian, who pointed to a woman lying on the footpath. Mr Rybinski cleared the woman’s airways and called for an ambulance, and on returning to her, found a bracelet which detailed her diabetic condition.
According to senior traffic Sergeant Tony Collins, Mr Rybinski spotted
an instant form-of relief foi 1 the woman’s plight in a nearby coffee bar. He raced over, grabbed a sugar bowl, and administered the sweetener to the woman, who almost immediately began to recover. Ambulance officers took the woman to Wellington Hospital, but her condition was not thought to be serious.
