There are registrars In medicine, surgery and casualty, and an establishment for 10 resident medical officers. Specialists from Adelaide and Sydney in ENT, ophthalmology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, radiotherapy and nephrology visit the hospital regularly and there Is also liaison with the major teaching ccentres in Adelaide. Broken Hill is a mining city which, although distant from capital cities, provides a wide range of recreational, cultural and educational facilities. The climate is dry, and although hot for four months of the year, is equable and sunny. POSTGRADUATE ACTIVITIES All doctors participate in weekly lunch time presentations, journal club, combined clinical meetings, xray and ECG meetings and quality control programme.
