All prime stock in solid demand

All types of prime stock were in solid demand from butchers and processing companies at the Addington market yesterday. The market had big yardings of prime lambs and beef cattle. Prime and store pigs had another exceptionally strong sale, but prices declined for ewes with newlyborn lambs at foot. Prime lambs

The market easily handled a yarding of almost 2800 lambs, an increase of more than 800 on last week.

After a hesitant start, prices quickly picked up and remained on a par with last week’s rates. Very few sales were made at less than $l3, and these were small, shorn lambs.

Heavyweight rams did not meet with quite the same strong competition as in recent weeks, although most prices ranged from $2O to $25. Medium lambs were generaly $l5 to $lB.

Values were.— Heavy ram lambs, to $26. Medium lambs, $l5 to $lB. Light lambs, $l3 to $l5. Sales included.—

Sales included.—
