Schools to get boost to grants
PA Wellington Schools will get a 10 per cent boost to their Government-funded grants to compensate for the goods and services tax, said the Minister of Education, Mr Marshall. However, voluntary funding such as activity fees paid by students would not be compensated, he told Parliament. Answering questions by Miss Richardson (Nat., Selwyn), Mr Marshall said the increased grant would come into effect on October 1 — the samp day •ST comes in. -W'-
