Sir,—-I am afraid William Leamon (July 26) is doomed to disappointment as It is highly unlikely that any gallery will be purchasing a Jonathan White painting. Competently applying paint to canvas in a photographic manner does not necessarily make a good painting. Big is not necessarily beautiful either. — Yours, etc., J. A. AUGUSTA. July 26, 1986.
