Farmer kills sheep
PA Auckland A Ruakaka farmer shocked pedestrians yesterday when he slaughtered three sheep at the corner of Queen and Victoria streets, Auckland.
Mr Bryce Patrick killed the sheep at 5.15 p.m. in protest against the way he said young farmers were suffering financially. Angry passers-by
abused Mr Patrick for his actions.
“I’m doing this for the guys who cannot cope,” he said. “I’ve heard of about 10 or 15 farmers who have committed suicide. I’m protesting for them.”
The police said they would take no action against Mr Patrick.
