Grand National meeting weights

Last year’s winner, Crown Star, has been given 63.5 kg for the $50,000 Lion Brown New Zealand Grand National Steeplechase on the third day of the Canterbury Jockey Club’s Grand National meeting at Riccarton on Saturday week. The son of Crown Lease was weighted at 57.5 kg in last year’s race. Crown Star, which triumphed last time out in the Eric Riddiford Steeplechase at Trentham carrying 65kg, has been given 66kg in this Saturday’s Koral Steeplechase. Handicaps for the first day of the meeting on Saturday, the Couplands Pies Grand National Hurdles on the second day, Wednesday, August 6, and the Lion Brown Grand National Steeplechase and the A.I.C.
