Arson blamed for fire

A garage and a car and motor-cycle parked inside were destroyed in an arson attack in Tedder Avenue, North New Brighton, early yesterday morning. An intruder had used bolt cutters to get into the garage before the fire, said Detective Senior-Sergeant Michael

Muddiman. The police believed that the intruder had taken some goods from the garage and then started the fire, which was noticed by a neighbour just after midnight. A Mark I Ford Zephyr, a motor-cycle, a chainsaw, and a sewing machine were destroyed.
