Shearer robbed at station

PA Wellington A Kaiapoi shearer was beaten and robbed of money and clothing as he passed through Wellington at the week-end. The shearer, aged 22, was attacked as he walked through the Wellington Railway Station subway on Friday night, the police said. Detective Inspector Ted

Lines said the man was robbed of $1263 of property including clothing, a radio-cassette recorder and $lOB in cash. Mr Lines said the victim was unable to estimate how many attackers there were or give descriptions. The man left Wellington on Sunday for the East Cape.
