Goats in park

Sir,—R. C. Flint (July 12) has drawn attention to the herd of goats which is free to roam in the Barnett Park walkway. Last year the Town Clerk, Mr Gray, assured me that a fence was being erected' to prevent these animals from entering the reserve. Has this plan been abandoned? If so, I look forward, like R. C. Flint, to a share of the profits of this venture. — Yours, etc., , G. E. G. BURGESS. July 13, 1986. [Mr J. H. Gray, Town Clerk, replies: “Because of technical difficulties arising from the steep terrain, and some legal difficulties, it has not yet been possible to erect the fence referred to. However, the matter is still being pursued.”]
